Episode 38: Warfare in the Middle Ages, Part 1

In today's episode, we discuss which came first, the chicken of the knight, or the egg of Feudalism. Personally, I am comfortable with the idea that they go together, in a kind of society quiche. Also I say some unkind things about military history in the popular press.

In today's episode, Travis Dow goes to Wittenberg, home of the world famous Hundertwasserschule, a school built by famous architect Friedensreich Hundertwasser. While there he makes a lot of friends.

I am going to be posting two episodes back to back, and then radio silence till January. Sorry for the gap, but when we reach the other side we will be in a new place! yay!

Speaking of moving, we are still hoping for a few more donors to reach our goal, so anything you can do to help would be appreciated. There is of course the store page, but you can also check out my wife's fiber arts business in the following places:

Episode 36: Three year Podiversiarry on Marc Bloch

After a long wait and innumerable technical difficulties, here it is the October Podiversiarry Show. As the title implies, this show is a review of the life and times of highly influential historian, Marc Bloch. I think this is one of our better episodes, even if it isn't quite up to the threshold of perfection we wanted. In the process of making this episode, Andrew and I both nearly had nervous breakdowns, so I think it is pretty good under the circumstances. Huge shout out to all the podcasters who helped out with this one, namely Thomas Daly, Roifield Brown, Zach Twamley, Sharyn Eastaugh, Steve Guerra, and Jerry Landry.

A Humble Request

We are oh so close to ending the ongoing moving saga, but if you could help just a bit more it would make it much easier. Per the episode, all the usual arrangements apply. But you may also want to check out my wife's store on Facebook here. She also has an extensive Instagram page which you can find here. Most things in the pictures are for sale, and she is always happy to do commissions. In all cases, if you email her at knitnfrog@gmail.com and let her know you are a listener, you can get 10% off. If you have a snarky regnal name, you will get 15% off. All proceeds will go to helping us move, because really we are not planning on eating anyway for the next month. Please check it out, she is very talented.
