Also congrats to Andrew for graduating, yaaaaaaaay!
In the last few episodes we discussed the issue of groups that do not fit comfortably into the concept of normal that any society sets up. Today we will begin to discuss the most strange and terrifying minority of all: women.
Also congrats to Andrew for graduating, yaaaaaaaay!

Hey maybe you corrected this is in women part 2, but my understanding is that the belief in the Immaculate Conception of Mary (ie without original sin) was actually still controversial in the Middle Ages with Southern European theologians arguing for it and Northern European theologians arguing that that would make her not fully human, and so we can’t do it. This went on until the Northern Europe half of the argument for some inexplicable reason just dropped out of the conversation in the 1500s.

Hi Benjamin, I'm a long time listener and as much as it pains me to say, I was terribly offended by some of the things uttered in this episode. The guest star you had on clearly doesn't understand the important roles women had in the daily functioning of medieval society, nor the forms of power they wielded which impacted communities for centuries after their death. Please pass the following response on to them:
